Hi folks,
I've used the search facility on this site re: Hostels and wondered if you could share any further experiences with the following:
Fortuna Hostel - I hear this may be the better one of the lot.
World Scholar House - Lonely Planet pitch this as the newest and therefore, probably the cleanest - how true is this?
I would be looking for a private room as I am travelling with my girlfriend. I accept that for around US$10 a night that one shouldn't expect palatial surroundings but exactly how bad are the conditions?
We plan to stay in a budget hotel for a few nights just to get over the jet lag as after a 15 hour flight I don't fancy hunting down a hostel until at least day 2.
Thanks in advance. |

Just stayed a week at the Fortuna this past week. Five minute walk to MRT (Taipower sta). Everything you need. You may be sharing the small apt-like hostel with up 6 people w/only one bath but for $12.00 a night you cant beat it. As clean as you would expect w/a few different people sharing accomodations. Three rooms...double bed in one, 2 bunks (sleeps four) in room 2 and the last I believe sleeps only two. good luck |

Thanks for the info.
I'll be checking out all of the hostels when I arrive. I'll bear your info in mind.
All the best! |
