Hello everyone!

I am a Canadian born Asian with a Journalism and Business background wanting to teach English in Argentina. I also have a TEFL Certificate and have been tutoring privately for approximately six months.
With Argentina having a majority Caucasian population, I was wondering how well will a Canadian born Asian English teacher will fare?

If anyone has first hand experience or know someone who does, please let me know.

Thank you!

Hello,

Yes, English is my first language.

~~

I just did another search and found someone in the same situation as me. If anyone is interested, check out the Post in the General Latin America Forum. I search and search, and, go figure, the day I don't, the answer is there. Shocked

So, I guess my next question is: Does anyone have any links to figure out how much bus fare in Buenos Aires is?
Very Happy

I visited BA in May '04 and public transportation there was cheap. I didnt take buses, but the subway was .70 pesos. At an exchange rate of about 3 pesos to the US dollar, thats, what, less than 25 cents. Taxis were rarely more than a few dollars around town. The exception is if you take a taxi all the way out to Ezeiza airport, it cost me about 12 US dollars for that. Dollars (and Im sure Canadian ones too) go pretty far there since the devaluation.
