Seriously....they are having some sort of "flu convention" in Toronto. One expert says everyone on the planet should be vaccinated (although not possible) against bird flu virus...
Also they say a pandemic which would kill at least 20 million is overdue and shoud hit within 5 years. This is the longest the world has gone without one in 400 years. It may or may not be the bird virus.
Have a nice day,,, |

Hmmmm...
I'd like to be the CEO of the company that will produce the vaccine.
I wonder who that "expert" works for...?

Lager, I think the global flue epidemic of the 1920s was "pandemic" in its proportions. Killed millions.
TalkDoc? Surely you must be familiar with this epidemic to which I refer. Was this considered a true "pandemic?"
cheers,

1) The 'experts' have been talking about an overdue pandemic for decades.
2) The influenza epidemic of 1918 killed dozens of millions; I think that qualifies as less than 400 years. |

The OP doesn't say that there have been no pandemics in the last 400years...just that this is the longest we have gone without one...1918 being the last one...and the 86 years into between being the longest stretch without having another one... |

Yeh...it's quite nice out there isn't it.
I miss hanging out around Pupyong Stn. with all the underground shops. Have you eaten any good Sundubu lately? It's my favorite.
Surprisingly, there aren't so many authentic Korean restaurants here in Japan.

Medicine has changed a lot in the past 400 years too
I never really even gave a second thought to visiting China at the tail end of the SARS deal. I pretty much just dismissed it after a quick thought on the odds of actually getting it.
It's good to be careful, but living life being paranoid could lead to other stress-induced illnesses.
