Hi!
I live in Italy. One of my students runs a travel agency and has recently told me about a lawyer who came in and wants to go to Ireland. The only thing is, he wants to take an English teacher (me) with him. All expenses paid, plus pay for the week of teaching him.
Assuming this guy (whom I've never met) is serious, how much do you think I should ask for a week of work abroad? I'd like to shoot kind of high, to see if he's interested, then we could bargain. But I have no experience with this kind of work. Do any of you know how much tour operators, etc. get paid?
Thank you very much in advance! |

First... figure out these totals:
1. Weekly pay (at current job)
2. Weekly living expenses (food, utilities, etc.)
3. Weekly Health Insurance cost (based on your annual premium)
Add each subtotal together.
Multiply the the total amount by 3.
This should give you a very nice figure to work with.
Also...don't forget to ask about Travel Insurance.

Be very careful! You may not have met this person, but I'm sure that he knows who you are. Please ask for references. If all checks out, then have a joyous adventure. |
