I am starting a conversation exchange with some Japanese people here in Tokyo. Their English ability is good enough to devote the English hour to free conversation.

But my Japanese is BASIC - I have only memorized phrases from Pimsleur CDs and taught myself some basic grammar with the "Idiot's Guide to Conversational Japanese" So - they agreed to make my hour less a conversation exchange than a lesson.

My question is - what book or books can you recommend for this purpose?
