Hey,
I put the post up about everyone`s favorite Mexican novel. I find that when I have a good book in my hands I want to talk to other people about it- especially if it is in Spanish since there might be parts I don`t understand. I majored in Spanish so I`m into this...living here one can learn a lot reading books by Mexican authors. So, here`s an idea. Maybe as a group we could pick a book to read together and then have some discussions about it. It would be a great motivator to read more while we are here. The question is...can we agree on a book to read?!!!!???? We could read a couple chapters a week and then start a thread of discussion. If you are interested in starting a club then post some books you would be interested in reading. If you guys do this then I`ll put them all together and take a poll to see which one we could start out with. It could be fun!!!!
Ok, hope to hear from all those readers out there.

Pedro Pramo, by Juan Rulfo.

I think complete books should be read before threads are started.

I'll participate. Since there is only one suggestion so far, Moon's, I second that we read that (all three of us).

Seriously...I'm in.

Since I listed it as my favorite Mexican novel, yes--several times. I will have to track down a copy of it, as mine always go out on permanent loan.

No cheating and reading it in English translation, now!--the translation stinks.
