I'm currently playing with ideas for jobs for next year. One possibility is Russia/Eastern Europe, another is Spain. Currently Russia is winning out but I'm open to persuasion about Spain.
I'm 22, TEFL Certified (Trinity College Cert, Barcelona, 2002) and have six months experience in a private school for adults in Russia. I am almost fluent in Spanish.
The area I think I would like to work in is Pais Vasco or somewhere near the sea but not too 'touristy' / 'ex-patty'. I've been briefly to Bilbao, San Sebastian and Bermeo and really liked it. The weather suits me better than Madrid.
I haven't had much success on internet searches for language schools in the area, however. I'm wondering if anyone could give me any pointers where to look, I suppose places will really start advertising in the spring. Would it be better to try and get somewhere over the Internet or fly out at the beginning of July to look for places in person? Also any advice about living in Basque Country generally would be much appreciated. I have been to Spain on lots of holidays and was in Bareclona for a month but have never lived there for a long period.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
