Hiyas,

Well, its coming to that "Where now??" time again, and I'm weighing up the issues that are involved if I should decide to stay in Spain.

What happens with income tax? I know some gets taken out of my pay every month, but what happens with filing end of year tax returns? When does this happen, and how does it work? I'm not going to be staying in the area I am now, which means changing jobs, addresses, etc etc and I must admit to not really understanding how it works when it comes down to the taxman and either paying (hopefully not) or getting money back (dreaming, I know! Wink ).

Also, I have to go for some kind of medical as part of my requirement for working here, if I change schools, will I have to go for another medical, or is that just related to my first time working in Spain? We have been told that the medicals are for all Spanish workers, and are compulsory, but I don't like being poked and prodded at...

Thanks for any information you might have!
Have a good day,
Lozwich.

I never submitted a tax return in the three years I was there, Lozwich, and never heard a cheep from el taxman.
As for medicals, the only one I had was laid on as an optional extra by my employer.
But... I left in October 2003, so this information could be out of date. Can anyone enlighten us? Oops! I've just committed the cardinal sin of asking a "Can anyone...?" question. Someone call the CELTA police!
