I started off this fall in China, but unfortunately I had to leave in the middle of the semester to return home due to a family emergency. While my old school is willing to take me back for the next term, I think I might try Taiwan instead.
While I could leave for Taiwan in mid-January, I think it is probably in my best interest to wait until after the Chinese New Year and arrive in the middle of February. From what I understand, many more positions will become available then. True? What is your opinion? Any and all comments are appreciated.
Cheers,

If you have enough money, coming a bit before the holiday might be a good idea. Schools sometimes advertise and fill their positions for the new semester before the holiday. Of course, you might not start until after the holiday, so be prepared to hang around a bit. Then again, there really isn't a bad time to come. Coming immediately after the holiday would be a good time also. You'd probably save on the airfare as well. |

What Steve said. I agree with him here. I came just befor the Chinese New Year last year so and I'm leaving my job during the Chinese New Year. So there's one job that may be available. Have enough money to tide yourself over for about a month. |
