I did a search on PLI and could not find any info about the school. The website is very interesting (http://www.pli.edu.mx/principal.htm). Does anyone have any information about the school? Have you taught there?

They have many languages available: french, english, spanish, and italian.

Thanks for your help

I have no experience with PLI so far, but I have an interview with them this afternoon here in Quertaro. I'll let you know my general impressions after the interview.

I had the opportunity to work at PLI (Private Language Institute) in Queretaro a few months back and it went horrible. I would advise anyone that is seeking a job at this school to be aware of the director: Paco. He left me high and dry in this country, which in my opinion is the worst thing a person can do. He was full of promises that were never kept.

Luckily, I had another job offer in the same city, so I was able to maintain my bills, like rent, phone, etc that I had promised.

Send me any questions if you want, I can tell you more

When I got the notification about this thread I realized that I never followed up on my experience as Id promised to do.

I havent actually worked there, but i did have a pretty negative experience with applying.

My interview with Paco went well; he seemed like a very friendly guy who would be easy to work with. I talked to some of the current teachers, who also seemed generally positive about conditions in the school. Paco said he had a position for me, talked about hours, classes, etc.

I told Paco I was pretty interested. A few days later, though, I had some other job offers, so I wrote to PLI to let them know about this situation and see when they needed a decision about the position.

No answer. As I was trying to make up my mind where to work, I wrote I think four e-mails and called twice in two weeks without getting a single response.

Finally, two weeks later, i got a message saying they had given my position away.

They tried to make it sound as though this was my fault because of a lack of commitment.

In fact, i had tried to contact them six times to get further information and see when they would require a commitment.

Some of this could be put down to the fact that everyone in mexico is supposed to be disorganized- except that I applied to a lot of other schools that werent disorganized.

Im actually glad I didnt go with PLI, because I ended up with positions at the Tec. de Monterrey last semester, and now at Shamrock English School. They both pay a lot better and dont require me to work any Saturdays.

Anyway...

btw,

ya has encontrado tu chica?

i've been here a few months but am still looking in that department too.
