For the rest of you out there ballsy enough to actually celebrate you're from the USA, I wish you a Happy, glutonous Thanksgiving!
Some of us actually tracked down a turkey with all the traditional fixins right here in India! Have to wait for a couple of days though.
Go Vikes!

Well, regardless of my feelings towards the Motherland, I am always happy for an excuse to get together with dear friends and/or family. One of the teachers here is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner at his house for the staff & students (on Sunday--more time to cook!). No turkey for me, but I will still enjoy the company.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow you all are so lucky. I just unknowingly celebrated my first Thanksgiving abroad at an izikaya (sp?) with Bush-supporter from Virginia as my husband avoids getting shot at while eating turkey flavored vacumn food packs. Rolling Eyes

Hey at least I have a job, good friends, and family---and I'm not in America! Woo-hoo!

You're about five weeks late Wink - but thanks anyhow for the sentiments.

If it is Thanksgiving, does that mean it is the start of the Christmas shopping period?

Is650: is canadian thanksgiving as big a deal as it is on nov. 25 in the states? i recall something about boxing day, but not so much canadian thanksgiving. my mom was canadian. my uncle used to call my dad yankee doodle or something like that--and i love the canadian national anthem.

It's big - but not as big as the US. It's the second Monday in October.

I missed being home for Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday. Family and friends get together and eat great food.... what could be better? I ate pizza this year. It was very good pizza, but it sure wasn't turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and fresh rolls dripping with butter. Oh, I almost forgot the pumpkin pie with real whipped cream.....
