Anyone teaching English in Okinawa or know anyone who is? How easy is it to find a job in Okinawa and what schools should I look into for teaching in that area? What's Okinawa like? |

Sandinista,
Okinawa is a nice place, especially the smaller islands. Naha is just like any other Japanese urban area though and there are no nice beaches nearby either.
Do a search and you'll probably find some info on Okinawa as this question comes up from time to time.
There are not a whole lot of English teaching jobs in Okinawa... I think it's the poorest prefecture in Japan and many of the jobs are taken up by the spouses of the American military already living there. |

Nova has a branch there, but I've been told there's a 3 year waiting list. I'm throwing my name down anyway. |
