Hi,

I am 59 and hope to go abroad to teach next year.

What countries do you recommend for someone who wants to earn money. I need to earn and save so it has to be a currency that converts to USD.

I also wd like a good quality of life and good people to work with and for.

Am I asking for too much? Hope not.

Any advice is appreciated.

What are your qualifications? Kind of hard to say what country is good for you if you don't fit the requirements for a work visa.

You should send a private message to Rhonda Place (she still around?) who went from Australia to China a couple of years ago. She was an older woman who had never done anything like this before and, from the sounds of it, she made it work pretty well.

Dunno, maybe I am too subjective...
First thing: I don't like to advise people where they should go. This is the job of a travel agent! And travel agents require their customers to be wealthy!

Secondly, I don't like to attract people who are in it only for the dough to my host country.
The learners might want to know why they have to part with their own cash to make you happy in their home country. What do you have to offer them?

When you choose to live abroad, you are, by definition, choosing something different from what you've known at home.

"Quality of life" has many elements and the value of each element varies with the individual. List them, assign a value to them (1-5, with 5 being the most important), then get back to us.

I am still here at the same School 15 months on. I did not come here for the money, as you know - and I only get 3,500 r.m.b. per month, but I am as happy as a pig in mud here in China, and at this School.

Anyone who would like to discuss the pros and cons of teaching here, is welcome to contact me. I am happy to try and help anyone, anytime.
