Hi all. I've been thinking about teaching english in Mexico, and I love PV. I was wondering if anyone has been through the University English Teachers program down there. Any experience, positive or negative, would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Hi,
I teach English in Vallarta and am friends with the owner/director of University English Teachers, Chris Zang. He is a truly sincere guy who is interested in preparing EFL teachers and has a good program. If you want to study TEFL in Vallarta, in my opinion you can't go wrong with UET.

Hey Sunny-

Where do you teach in Vallarta? I'm really interested in heading down there, but I don't want to go unprepared. Did you actually go through the UET program? If not, where did you get your TEFL cert (or do you have one)? Thanks.

Hi,
I have a Masters in Education and didn't get a TEFL certificate. I've been teaching English for many moons. But I do feel that my background qualifies me to evaluate a program such as UET. I met Chris while working at another school and he shortly thereafter started UET. I have met a couple of the teachers who have graduated from his program. They are quite good. I'm not familiar with any other TEFL programs so can't help you out on that one. But if you want to spend some time studying on the beach, this is a good bet. Chris is truly interested in doing a good job of preparing EFL teachers. If you come down, I'll have to hit him up for a commission. Laughing
Take care,
Sunny
