I wanna cancel my 2 year gym pass in vancouver which i still have until july to finish. Anyone have any experience on cancelling theirs? They told me i needed 2 documents (suchas job contract or utlilty bill) as proof..however.planning to go there to search for a job..who knows how long that will take me before i can get back to them! Otherwise was just thinking of cancelling my visa since i am gonna be getting a new one and won't be in the country anymore ..but worried collections agent might keep calling or come to my house or worse yet..although my situation is probaly small potatoes and happens all the time nonetheless there is still the possiblilty of them taking me to court? ..i know i won't be in the country to face all this anyways but i am planning to be gone for a year... but i'll be back home eventually. |

Up to you to decide what you want to do about the fitness club contract. I would suggest you phone their head office and explain that you are leaving the country and don't need their service any more. Be very persistent. You could research whether or not the fitness club contract has any bearing at all on your credit history. I suspect it won't. The most I think they'll do is cancel your membership for non-payment (which is what you want anyway). I doubt very much they either could or would take you to court. I wouldn't worry a great deal about it. |

Calling the head office is good advice but first you should read your contract. Usually a gym contract stipulates how to terminate the agreement. The more honorable gyms just require you to send them a written letter stating when and brief explanation explaining why you are cancelling.
Good luck! |

If all else fails, do what I did: Stop paying the monthly fee and tell them to stuff it. |
