I've never done one of the English summer camps here in Spain and have heard some stories about some that provide 4 star hotel accomodation, meals and gym included, near Marbella... plus pay . Is there any truth to this? How about some summer camp stories in general as I'm thinking about finally doing one.
Thanks in advance. |

I worked in nine camps run by Berlitz on behalf of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha.
The accommodation was in university halls of residence, and the standard varied. The food was usually not to my liking, but vegetarianism is still an alien concept in Spain.
The money was better than my normal salary, and the workload was easier.
Few of the monitors spoke English, so having a grasp of Spanish was very useful.
Most important of all was being able to remain reasonably sane whilst working with a class of 20-25 teenagers. |
