What contries in Asia tolerate marijuana at least somewhat. I mean, there are plenty of people who smoke in America and never run into any trouble even though it is illegal. What are the places where you won't get hasseled too much? |

I've been in Saigon for several months. Lots of foreigners are smoking pot as casually as can be. At one cafe there's a guy (Vietnamese) who'll do an expert rolling job in less than a minute. It's cheap, plentiful and often ignored in many foreigner places (such as the famous backpacker area around Pham Ngu Lao/De Tham). No one seems to care much. I haven't heard any stories of people getting in trouble for it. |

If you do what you do the way that you do it in America that doesn't get you into trouble there, you shouldn't run into problems in Asia. What I mean is - do private things in private places and get private things from private people. The main danger in Asia is getting grassed on (yeah yeah) by someone who's helped you to score in the street etc etc.
Here are a couple of places I've found to be very chilled: Ko Chang in Thailand and the Gili Islands in Indonesia (near Bali). |
