Okay, so after careful consideration, I have decided to come over in February after the Chinese New Year. So my next step is to get a visa from my local TECO office here in the States. While I could apply for a visitor visa, I think I could probably get a business visa for the purpose of attending a business expo in Taipei for my dad's business. Anyone have any experience getting a business visa in the States? I think I read somewhere that these visas are good for six months...true? If I am able to get a business visa, will there be any problems converting this over to a work visa?
Cheers,
Kirk |

Use a travel agent and specifically request a multiple entry visa for business purposes. |
Inform your travel agent that you would really like to purchase the ticket through their office but they must first assist you in getting a 60 day extendable, multiple entry visa for business purposes.
Good luck,
A. |
