Hey All,
I am wondering if anyone knows of any teaching opportunities in Belgium?
I see there is no Belgium forum, so I guess the answer may be no.
I also am aware of how difficult it is for non EU citizens to obtain jobs in western Europe.
Any suggestions?

I worked in Belgium a few years ago. It was possible then for Americans to get paperwork, through some agreements with the US gov't. You could check the Belgian Embassy (Washington, DC) website for current info. It wasn't easy, but possible.
However, the market for teachers is small, and the jobs are generally not well-paid. You might check Luxembourg - same legal situation used to apply, and pay was somewhat better. Just be advised that the weather's equivalent to London there - horizontal, wind-blown rain for sometimes three months at a time, nonstop. There were two language schools there, both focusing on English for the banking industry, plus an international school, if you're qualified to teach a core subject.
All this info is two or three years old..... for what that's worth! |
