has anyone actually got a job from this website?
I have personally got a summer school job in the UK and a complete waste of timer in Chile but otherwise its like sending an e mail to a brick wall.
I have tried the complete fabrication of the c.v method and this too does not get far either - just basically a skimming ground for lazy employers?
Any views...... |

Two of my teaching jobs were advertised on tefl.com. I enjoyed both of them.

| I have not gotten any results from it as far as China goes. Some of the adds I answered were a load of crap as far as accomodations and location..... useless IMHO if you're already in China |

Yes
and
yes.
A few 'good' employers advertise here but most are incompetent. The "information" provided in advertisements is often misleading, contradictory, or scant. The 'online CV' facility is poorly designed, confusing, and seemingly of no use to potential employers (or at least those with half a brain... or perhaps I should say a quarter).
Anyone know any half decent sites (or perhaps I should say 'one-third')? |

| I have had many offers through tefl.com. I accepted 5. Only one was bad--I left after 3 days--2 were good, and 1 mediocre. The fifth one I backed out of. |

We get about two-tjhirds of our applicants from Tefl.com The onliine resume has too much information, but if it's properly filled in I get all the information I need.
If the jobs are rubbish don't apply for them; goes for any place they have job ads |

I was part of that 2/3. Just out of interest where does the other third come from?
(BTW Stephen did contact me and we spoke on the phone. However I had accepted an offer elsewhere. Even though my mother tried to make me accept Stephen's offer. Why? My mother had spoken to Stephen and "He sounds such a nice man") |

Maybe you should have taken your mother's advice! We could do with more nice people in TEFL...
(Having a bad day.) |
