Hello all,
first time for me to be here, I am an egyptian doctor moving to Al Khobar after new year, I have some questions to ask and would be glad if you help me
1- All you know about Saad specialist hospital ( I have read one post about them that was not really encouraging)
2- Monthly living expenses approximatly ( I am provided with the accomodation) I need to know what it will cost for a normal decent life
3- Is it easy to go to Bahrain in week ends or every weekend
4- Security measures after attacks
5-Cost to buy a car for a family of 4 ( small one)
6- Children activities ( Having two male Kids)
Thanks all |

If your employer is amenable you can get a six month multii entry-re-entry visa for SR500.
Most things in Saudi are easy if your employer is amenable. |

Suggest you ask the hospital to give you the names and contact numbers of other Egyptian staff at the hospital who may be in Egypt for the Haj break etc. They would be best able to give you the information you need on the hospital.
Regarding kids, you would need to find out what the hospital pays for in terms of education i.e. allowance or fees paid and at what school? The quality of education varies a lot from school to school. Fees vary a lot too.
If you need further information on the cost of living etc. email me on [email protected] and I can give you a mobile number in Egypt where I am at the moment. Good luck with the move but suggest you get as much information as possible before you head for the Kingdom.
I worked there for a number of years, made a lot of Egyptian friends and, generally, most were not particularly impressed with the place. Money was the only factor which kept them there!
Multiple exit/re-entry visas are not all that easy to get, unless you have a particularly kind sponsor. Also, given the shortage of medical staff in Kingdom hospitals at the moment, I doubt if your sponsor would trust you to leave for a weekend whenever you wished. You might not come back!! The best way to find out for sure is to ask the hospital or, better still, some former /present staff at the hospital.
Finally, get everything in writing as some employers will tell you what you want to hear and then ask you where it says X and Y in the contract when you get there. Saudi can be a wonderful place to work and save some money, as long as your expectations are met and you are happy with the terms and conditions of your contract. Good luck |
