Hi all, I am new to this forum, and firstly wanted to say that I have already got some fantastic information from previous messages . . . . so thanks!
I currently reside in Melbourne, Australia, and having recently visitied Vietnam, I am now keen to go back and teach. I have a degree, an well as other tertiary qualifications, which are science/natural resource managemnt based, but no TESOL qualifications. Is it possible for someone with my qualifications to find work? I have no experience in teaching english, but lots of experience working with children. Would it be best for me to get my TESOL certificate here in Australia, and then head over in about June and apply to different schools while I am there? Has anyone organised a placement from abroad and then gone over to teach? Any advice anyone can give a newbie to this field would be of great value. Thanks, Michelle. |

Sure! There is plenty of teaching work, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, but also in other major cities. You should have a job in a week.

Yes, come over first. June is a very good time to look for work. You should contact schools beforehand to get info and maybe set up interviews though. |
