hi,
i've just landed a uni job on the outskirts of tokyo and will start work in april. everyhting sounds sweet but i do have to find my own accomm. from this forum and gaijinpot i have ascertained that most all aprtments come with nothing. meaning i'll have to buy everything from scratch, with no japanese skills or real knowledge of japan to help in that process.
i just found leopalace's website and browsed through it and, whilst i'm no japan expert, it seems pretty good. granted there are many different deals but all apartments are fully furnished for tenants who stay an extended period of time. they offer internet service and cable hook up and all utilities are included in rent.
they have different rank of apartments from a-z with a being cheapest. i went average at h or something and divided it by 12 - assuming i stayed there a year - and it works out at 83,000 a month or thereabouts.
for a fully furnished aprtment, with aircon, cable, high speed internet and no key money it sounds pretty spot on to me. are there any horror stories or can anyone give some more. i'm liking the look of it all but as always, questions are necessary. |
