| I really want to teach in Thailand, but i dont have a degree. I only have the TESOL Certficate from Global TESOL College. So can you teach in Thailand without a degree. |

| In a word yes, but it will be hard (not impossible though) to be fully legit, but then I'd say probably 50+% of teachers here in Bangkok/Thailand aren't (legit that is). |

Yeah go for it, life is short but only do it for a little while because making 1000 CAN a month for 5 years is not that great. In the end getting a degree will be the best thing you ever did, because yes teaching in Thailand is great and all, but when you're over there for a long time you start thinking about stuff like "do I want to get married and raise a family" "Do I need to start investing money into some sort of retirement fund so that I won't be 50 years old and on the street?" Do I want to do better for myself? And making 1000$ CAN a month will not cut it. And eventually you'll want to get into other things that will make your life much better. But what do I know I'm in University getting a degree in international relations so that I can work at an Embassy in Asia and I'm also working on a film and Asian pop culture magazine that might make me enough money to not worry about anything for the rest of my life and all of this without using a university degree.
My point is you have to have some sort of an escape plan for your future either a degree or an amazing Idea that will make you some good money that will help you live comfortably in the future. |
