|

Basically a company with a fairly good rep and good teacher feedback has offered me a job. But they want me to go there on a business visa, do some training and then sign a contract and get a Z visa. Is this possible? Ive heard people not being able to change visas so I'm a bit weary. Oh the training is more to cater towards the syllabus I have a TESOl. Any advice would be much appreciated. |

You could do worse than by reading up old posts on the same question. There is, for instance, the "sticky".
It is a matter of take it or leave it as offered; they might deserve your trust, and then again, they might be impostors. In my experience this is pretty normal though many in the more distant parts of the country insist in their place it wouldn't be possible.
Chinese employers get a lot of job applications and have to be a little ingenious sometimes; to invite so many potential job holders or to invite but one? The simplest often is to have as many as show interest come here, then select the most suitable candidate from those physically present. |

I came in on an F, and now have the Z. It took me three employers though before I found one who could get me the Z. You might consider coming and then seeing how long it takes them to get around to setting up the Z. As a rule of thumb, this is a pretty fair indcator of how they will treat you in other respects. If it takes them more than 2 months, then think about running. |

You are allowed to change your visa if u have an invitation letter.
there are some companies that accept F business visas for
short term training or for establishments that aren't schools,
such as factories who need to have their sales staff trained in english.
But as I know if they renig on the deal, you might be stuck without
the special Z visa and work permission. I had this problem before
when carrying a Z visa and the school wouldn't pay, the labor dept
threatened to seize their assets and close them down. |

Both parties must be willing to risk if a relationship is to be successful.
The rules for getting and changing visas have been in flux for the past few months and I don't think anyone can say anything with 100% certainty.
The "Z" was the only way to go for me and I would say the same thing to any friend. I don't work unless I have a work visa. Not negotiable.
If the school really wants you, they will get the "Z" visa. |
