Turkey will cut its corporate tax rate to 30 percent from 33 percent next year and slash Value Added Tax on food, health and education to 8 percent from 18 percent, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Tuesday.
Erdoğan said all financial income would be taxed by the same method and rate starting from 2006. Moreover, he also announced that various goods and services that are currently taxed at 18 percent would be taxed at 8 percent from 2005 onwards. These include, mainly, various food items, drinking water, and therapeutic items. |

And probably we'll lose the right to reclaim KDV every year as now. I've never understood the point of a tax that the customer can reclaim. |
