hey guys
just wondering who rides motorcycles (with manual clutch/gear lever) as opposed to scooters here, and if anyone knows the details regarding bigger motorcycles here? from what i've heard it's a real mission to get a licence for bigger motorcycles, and most of the bigger bikes i've seen here, (NSR250, VFR400, VTR1000), are illegally imported and cannot be licenced, so a friend of mine says. 150cc bikes seem to be easy to get hold of legally though. Anyone ride a honda NSR150 here? What's the deal with bigger bikes? |

Go to forumosa.com and look in their "vroom vroom" forum. They have a lot of enthusiasts there who can answer your questions. Larger bikes are now legal, though you need a special license for them. I think your friend might be wrong about the legality of the bikes. I do think they're prohibitively expensive, though. |

I drive a 150CC Charley (Chinese Harley) called Piglet. It's not quite the whole Hawg. It's not reaaaally a Harley either. But it looks like one, if you squint real hard.
They are plentiful. You should be able to pick one up for 20-30K.
Larger bikes are cost-prohibitive due to the insurance. It is ridiculous.
And...where would you go with it? No point really, unless you are making alot of road trips down the east coast. Which is gonna happen how often? It's my understanding that you can rent a big machine for such a special purpose. Check out the thread that what's his face recommnended. |
