In terms of :
- Safety
- Salary
- People
I'm pretty much happy in most countries (lived in Libya before), but not sure about these 2.
Also, know any Asians teaching English in these parts and how are they perceived by the locals? |

Which one is better? Going to Mexico on vacation or to Jamaica?
Choices here are made on case per case basis, and please be reminded that safety might concern you but not me, and savings might not concern me, but it does to you.

It all depends on the employer. |

Well the reason why I posted here was because I've no idea.
If you ask me the difference between Japan and Korea I could easily tell you.
Can't be too hard to help someone can it? |

There are reams of information on this board. Then there are the job information journals. Why not read them? Not to mention Google...
Why don't you do the research so that you can see what matches your interests and your experience and your requirements. Other than that you are just getting opinions from strangers. (I pick UAE, Scot47 would pick KSA) Besides if you look on these boards, (both KSA board and General ME board) this topic has been discussed. Your main question is too general.
I can answer your question about Asians. There are few of them teaching English in tertiary levels, but they can be found in Primary and Secondary schools (and some of the small private universities). Asians, in general, tend to be treated more obviously as 'servants' and they are often paid less than 'white' Westerners.

I have lived in both. If you want to save a lot of money relatively quickly and lead a rather limited lifestyle, go to KSA. If you want a reasonable salary and lead whatever type of lifestyle you desire, go to the UAE. It's as simple as that!
Good luck |

How much can someone in KSA with an M.A. and one year of experience save if you have an average salary? |

US$10,000 a year ? More if you are in BAe or SALTS or Lockheed. Or if you live on nothing and steal toilet paper from work. |

It all depends on your salary. In the first year you are likely to be buying things, so $10-15,000 seems right.
Economize and you could save $20,000 a year.
If you work for BAE you should easily manage to save $60,000 a year. |

What qualifications do you need to get a job with BAE? And is there any chance of getting overtime in KSA? |

BAE say that they want an MA. From what I hear they also administer a test to determine whether you are brain-dead. |
