An interesting article in the LA Times yesterday was about the Thai prince who died jetskiing. Apparently he was autistic. Was not aware of that...not that I necessarily would be, but was interesting, and very, very sad. I too, a Christian, join in prayer with the different faiths around the world who are praying for the survivors and souls of the departed. May there be peace.

There have been several threads started on this topic, and I wanted to say something else, so maybe I'll say it here. Besides prayer, if any of us reading these posts can at all afford to give something, no matter how small, it will be appreciated. We as ESL/EFL teachers aften complain, rightfully, about our paltry incomes. But these are people who literally have nothing. Can we not afford to give a little from our next check to support the relief efforts? Mr Twisting and I gave to Doctors Without Borders. That's a good organization. Snoop around a little on the internet for others. May God bless all the poor people who are suffering!

TEFL.com have been running an appeal since just after the disaster struck. Their advertisers have also agreed to have their banner ads replaced with "donate" banners over the past couple of days. So far it has raised $1590 and 1861 You can donate at http://www.tefl.com/tsunami/donate.html.
