Hello, this is my first time posting on this site but I have been using it for some time now.

I have recently accepted a job with school in Kyushu. If anyone has good advice on the area, school, things to bring, books to read I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks for the help Celeste,

I see from your post that you're in Fukuoka City. Have you enjoyed so far?
I have to wait about another month or so but am anxious to get over there.

I love it here, and it is becoming a very popular city for foreign residents. Because of its popularity, it is often difficult to find good full time teaching jobs here.

Unfortunately. It's my dream to live in Kyushu for the rest of my life, but Hokkaido wouldn't be bad either. I think what's happening right now is new foreigners are willing to branch out from Tokyo and Osaka (because they've heard about how crap it is to live in a metropolis).
