I tried finding information on this website and on a couple others but couldn't so I thought someone here might be able to give me some information/advice.
My wife and I are interested in moving to work in Saudi Arabia. I am finishing my degree in Education and my wife is an ICU Nurse. We are trying to find recruiters who would be able to place us both. We're not really particular where-be it a compound in the desert, a smaller city, or Riyadh/Jeddah size city.
I would also like to know what people with experience think my chances for employment are where I am just finishing my Education degree. To put this into context: I am ex-Army (Canadian) and have instructed there for about 10+ years. I have been an ESL tutor for 10 years (My ESL course is from a Canadian University). I also was a TA in university while I was doing my graduate coursework (I did not complete the Masters Degree however). I also have an undergraduate degree with a double major in English and History. I don't know how it works in the US but in Canada you need and undergraduate degree before you can get your degree in Education (Uunless you do them combined-which works out to be the same thing)
So, although I am just finishing the Education degree I still have alot of instructional/teaching experience.
We are interested in coming to Saudi (and the Middle East, in general) because I was there for two United Nations tours-of-duty (Iraq-1991; Cyprus-1989) and absolutely fell in love with the region (my graduate work in history focuses on the Middle East). My wife has had to endure the stories and now wants to see the area I've gone on at length about (kinda like this e-mail)
Anyway, I know this is a long post-my apologies-but if any one could provide me with information on recruiters who deal with couples it would be very much appreciated. Further, any observations you may have, from experience, on my situation, I would also appreciate...please be constructive though-I've heard most, if not all, the Army jokes and jibes
Cheers,
