Ned Kelly and Mrs Mangle.
The point of the fav Americans list is that it was started by a NON American to show that not everyone hates Americans. Starting one about your fav compatriots is a different kettle of cheese.

I find it hightly inappropiate to come up with a favorite list when two cats in my neighborhood recently perished in a road accident. Those Aussies always have to take centerstage even amid such a tragedy as feline death. Very Happy

Fair enough.

Cricket - Shane Warne & Don Bradman
Rugby Union - Michael Lynagh (good sportsman and not anti-English for once or he hid it well) & Owen Finnegan (underrated hard b*stard) - NOT 'Campo' - he's a tit.

Barry Humphries - his 'Les Patterson' - Cultural Attache for Australia is my fave.

Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue, Danni Minogue - because they are babes. And that girl who was 'Plain Jane Super Brain' in Home & Away. Not that I watched it, just tuned in by accident once.

Those darn Americans sent only $127.52. Surely this proves a mass conspiracy that Bush was plotting ________ (racism/oil monopoly/doom) against the felines. I have even gathered solid empirical evidence that Bush CLEARLY prefers their mortal enemies:

Harold
Madge

To be honest, I'm not aware of many famous aussies and I certainly don't know many on the lists so far.

Anyway, the feline report shows that it was all a conspiracy anyway cunningly put into operation by bouncer.

Greg Norman
Kylie Minogue
Peter Carey
Peter Allen
Olivia Newton John
Dawn Fraser
Peter Weir

Question

I pity your ignorance.

Not sure I've ever heard of most of these
but I DO like KYLIE!! Razz and Nicole Kidman's hot too.

Olivia was also pretty big in the States back when I was a kid.
Please, mister please! Don't play B-17!

The other ones seem vaguely familiar.
James Morrison sang for the Doors, right? Australia's greatest band, after AC/DC whom I also like.
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n' roll!!

What about the Bee Gees? I guess they have spent most of their time in NYC but they were originally from Oz weren't they?
And INXS...

doing a web search:
actors Mel Gibson, American born, Australian raised
and Russell Crowe - (born NZ)
Oh so Peter Weir directed "Master and Commander", good film.
Don't forget Helen Reddy
I am woman, hear me roar!!

and then there's two that may not be people's favorites:
Pauline Hanson [hey, at least she's well-known] and Rupert Murdoch [at least he's rich and powerful]

Don't pity me honey, I said many, not all. On that list I know 4 only. Am I lacking something in my life by not knowing the others?
