I remember a comment in some thread or other ages ago about the "usergroups" function and why there aren't any groups right now.
With all of the current discussion about what topics are appropriate in the general discussion forum, maybe those usergroups can play a role. Why not start a "politics" group? Or, of course, any other non-teaching topic, but politics seems to be the most common non-teaching discussion topic.
Just how can one start a usergroup? (I must say, though, that I am not interested in participating in a politics discussion group--I'd like to see one opened basically to keep the focus here more teaching-oriented. If I want to discuss politics, I grab a friend and a drink and start talking.)

Excellent idae Denise.
Wow your memory is good. I posted that topic in March 2004. If I remember correctly Johnslat told us how to start a usergroup |

dmb--
I don't mean to freak you out or anything, but somehow I remember that it was you who mentioned it before.
I, too, miss johnslat.

I'm watching you...
Honestly, I just have a weird memory sometimes. The most random little factoids just lodge themselves in my brain. And the most basic just pass right on through.
