Hey there,

Just got back from a vacation in Lisbon and totally fell in love with the city. Such a great comfortable and charming city. People seemed so nice and friendly and everything about the city and my trip was fantastic. I am in Madrid right now teaching and am seriously thinking about heading to Lisbon in the Fall. Anyone who is working there now or recently - I would love to hear from you. I just want to know a couple of basic questions:

Can I find work? What is the average pay for private or classes through a school?

How do I find work!?! Are there academies there like in Madrid? All in private lessons?

I hear it is cheaper than Madrid? My apartment is about 350 a month right now. And work is pretty easy to find. I can live off about 900 a month. Possible in Lison?

On a purely personal note, what is the nightlife like? Looks like there is a good balance of straight and gay clubs. Not terribly important but...oh, who am I kidding! I want to know! Surprised

So am I dreaming or is it a realistic proposition to move to Lisbon, find work and be relatively happy without having to scrape by on bread and coffee and really cheap beer? I can be frugal within reason!

Any thoughts would really be appreciated as I am serious about moving but a little gunshy about moving without some basic knowledge and comfort level.

My email is [email protected] or just send me a private message through ESLCafe.

Thanks so much! Very Happy

Christopher
