I have been asked by a couple of schools to only declare about half of my salary for tax purposes. Is anyone else doing this? What is likely to happen if I don't finish my contract? Any advice?

To my knowledge, this is done quite extensively. I leave it up to you to decide whether this arrangement works for you or not. If your school handles your taxes for you, play along. You can always blame them for their accounting. If not, think twice before doing it yourself.
I don't see any connection between the tax issue and contract completion, however. |
