Honestly, there isn't much to be had, and I haven't encountered any real agencies to speak of. Most of what there is gets done either freelance, or through one of the language institutes. At my school, we get a fair few requests for translations from businesses where we teach, and handle them in house. People from the other institutes report the same.
One school, Inligua, does have a translation department that does a news translation service for businesses. I don't know much about it, but have heard that it's hard to combine with teaching, as it's rather full time.
You should be braced for the wages here as well. In Spain, I got 8-12 eurocents a word for translation projects. Here, they'll offer you 10 dollar a page. But as long as you don't rely on it too much, occasional nice projects come in.
I'm still in Quito, by the way, so if you need any pointers, let me know.

Regards,
Justin
