Hi!
I am also looking to teach in China and started out with her. I also posted an inquiry about her on here but no one knew anything about her. She was going to place me in Huludao starting in February. She seemed nice but because I didn't know anything about her and I haven't heard anything I decided to look elsewhere. It is my first time teaching overseas and everyone is saying that the amount of money they offered was just too little.
Sorry I can't be of more help! |

Flaky and low pay. I would say "dubious" at best.
Does no one read these forums? Forget recruiters. |

I live in Huludao and i love it here. website is ok. i dont know about this sinobear person, but he has a good point. some of these people are crooks, the reason why im here working for belinda is because my boss in Benxi was bad, really really bad and she took me as a teacher on really short notice. If you dont want to sign with Jenny Feng but want a job in China keep looking at this site. Sinobear again has a good point, forget recruiters, theyll take half your pay before you even see whats going on.

Sinobear's right.
Recruiters suck you dry.
You can easily look for yourself on various sites and make deals with bosses yourself. Save them the recruiting fee. |

I have been here for a year now and have used the same recruiter for my uni job and my summer job and I have never been charged a penny by him. I know that he makes his money from charging the schools.
So...not all of them are that bad..some are worthwhile. |

I was also thinking about using "Teach in China". I can only teach in China for three months during the summer and do not know anyone else that would offer me a three month job. I would avoid using a recruiter but with only three months what other options do I have. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
James |

It won't be long now before the websites are crammed with adverts for FT's for 'summer camps' - bide your time my friend - stay clear of recruiters. |

but if I take a job at a summer camp I can only stay in China for 30 days. I need a visa? |

If the summer camp is organised by a 'genuine' school, they will arrange the paperwork for the necessary visa. |

OK guys listen up.
http://www.teach-in-china.cn/ and
http://www.teachinchina.cn/
are two completely unrelated companies. I cannot comment for 'teach-in-china', but from a look at their website they seem more interested in selling China to rather than informing you about teaching here.
'teachinchina' is a recruiter based in Shijiazhuang. I would certainly recomend these people to anybody thinking of coming to China. They went all out in finding me a school that suited me, and not their pocket like most others do.
You will find that right across China, schools rename themselves, stealing other schools good names. It is important that you speak to other teachers and do as much research as you can about your prospective employer. |

theres another one that i have worked on actually at www.teachincn.com
i also worked on one at www.teachinchina.cn but the guy that runs it is a greedy dude and he doesnt have any schools or anything, he just gets foriegners here and then sells them (or tries) if he can. right now there are a few people stuck here without jobs and its pretty bad. so i would just stay away from that one. but www.teach-in-china.cn is ok i have heard and www.teachincn.com I know is legit as thats the one i came into china on and helped out for a while |

Are you trying to tell us you have found work through all three of these companies? Because that is the only way you would know if they are good or not. Where are these people who are stuck here without jobs? I have never met a single person who was not satisfied with the school that www.teachinchina.cn (Hebei, New Times) found for them.
Before you start coming here and giving good companies a bad name, "because you heard somewhere that maybe...", have your proof up front. I dare you to bring just one teacher forward who has been 'stuck here'. For every one person you might find, I will show you 5 who are more than happy. Do we have a deal or will you retract your comment? |

ok gotta clear some stuff up, first i may have wrongly typed in .cn instead of .com, second, the www.teachinchina.com that i am talking about is the one based in Huludao, Liaoning provence, and i worked there. also i know people that cant say a bad word about their experiances through www.teach-in-china.com and because i work with them, thats how i know about these two, and the third is the other one i had worked on as friend. So thats where im comming from, as of retracting my statements, if had typed in the wrong address, then by all means yes i will retract, if i didnt, then pm me for a friends email and he would be more than happy to elaborate further for ya. |

I don't think so, buddy!!!
I was in Shijiazhuang all of last week and I failed to meet a single person that came through New Times that did not have a job unless they arrived within the last 2 or 3 days (keep in mind that it is the spring fest).
Heck, even the ones that arrived in the beginning of Feb had part time jobs to bring in some cash while waiting for their regular teaching gig to begin once the students are back from vacation.
None of my business, really, but I just don't like unfounded accusations... |
