| I will be completeting a TEFL certification course in Thailand in the near future. When I return to the U.S., I would like to take a short-term assignment (3 months or less) teaching English in Latin America to gain some additional practical experience (the TEFL certification program only includes 10 hours of supervised teaching) and to get a feel for opportunities in Latin America. A volunteer teaching program is fine, I just don't want to go broke paying large participation fees, airfare, and regular expenses. So hopefully the fees would be somewhat modest or at least include generous accomodations. I've seen some mention of volunteer programs, but very few recommendations or first hand information. Any information on short-term work or volunteer teaching assigments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
