I think that Estelle meant when she said that the ''school'' should pay for airfares is that they should reimburse you for the fares when you finish the ''contract.''

Even good old English Fast reimbursed me for my airfare in full when I finished the contract and they were right scumbags. No doubt Damian too.

When I look at the pay and conditions that ET, EF, Interlang etc. offer, English Fast really was not that bad. Free shared accomodation, airfares, guaranteed monthly salary, airfare, workshops and a work permit. I never thought I would ever end up defending English Fast.

Back to the OP. Ekmekparasi, do you miss the old days of EF? You keep bringing them up. You are correct however, it was a good place to work at one point. I stayed with EF for about 5 years and only jumped an already sinking ship when Nazif started turning up at the branch the day before pay day and emptying out the safe. But until then EF always gave what it said it would and it was a pleasant place to work.

Bende. Five good years at English Fast (in Izmir) then jumped ship because they no longer wanted experienced (expensive) native speaker teachers.

Were any of you guys at the mega English Fast Training sesh/conference in Istanbul the year we went American? Maybe it was about 1995/6?
I remember that year fondly - I'd just moved to an unfurnished flat and they paid us so much money I could buy new, good : cooker, water heater, TV and washing machine without feeling the pinch. Those really were the days!
