i have wasted 2 hours trying to change my avatar. Every time I do I get an X. Does anyone know why? All the ones I try are under 80x80 pixels and less than 6 kb. Where do some of ya get your cool avatars? Last time I went to Google Images and clicked on the URL address. Doesn't seem to wanna work for me now. Any help?
Thank you |

google.
search for 'avatar'.
when you've got a good one, save it (jpg or gif) in a photobucket or something of the like.
then, go to profile and put the URL, from your photobucket where you've saved it, into the avatar space. (yahoo pictures dont work here)
it should work now.
small pictures should work too, if you look for small images on google, the thing is to save it somewhere public on the Internet.
good luck

Make sure you type the url of your avatar in perfectly...it is case sensitive. eg. http://www.avatar.com/pic_of_whatever.JPG (or.jpg)
The size restrictions of 80 X 80 is simply the default setting, and not applied in this forum You can go bigger, but try not to exceed 250 X 250 as this makes it hard to read the posts. |

Another way if you're gonna use google, you can click on the Images then type in the image you wanted to use as avatar. Click on image, copy URL and go to your profile and save.

Have a look at these two sites as well. lots of things you can use.

If you need to resize a pic ( either in file size or pixel size ), there are lots of programs out there from ACDSee to MS Picture Editor up to Adobe Photoshop
Guy - I would suggest you reduce your pic - listen to your own advice. It is a bit big - oooer missus! |
