The best way to find any resource in your part of Japan, whether it be a doctor, lawyer, dentist, Christian church, Buddhist priest, local shaman, exorcist, WHATEVER, visit your local "International Center." Many communities have one... It can go by a number of different names.

I did a quick Google search (Yokohama +international +center) and came up with the Yokohama International Lounge and Center.

http://www.city.yokohama.jp/me/naka/contents/english/nwtn/03/0307/lounge.html

This is a link to an info page on this facility and a map how to get there. The International Lounge website itself (ironically enough) is only in Japanese so I won't bother linking to it here. If you spoke Japanese, you wouldn't be asking for an English-speaking doctor, right? Smile

In my neck of the woods, they publish and stock an exhaustive list of doctors (and specialists) in the area, phone numbers, addresses, and a section on what to do in case of a medical emergency, including basic English-Japanese phrases translating common ailments or problems.

I don't expect that other areas will neccessarily have a similar publication, but I'd say the International Center will be a great starting point to find what you're looking for.

Good luck!

I visited a skin specialist last year near(1 min on foot) JR Hodogaya station. It's called Asai clinic Tel: 045-334-3412. They have website, but it's all in Japanese. However, if you click on the bottom right, a map to the clinic will pop up.

He(Asai san) really helped me a lot by diagnosing my problem w/o the usual bs you get here. Furthermore, the local people I spoke to said he was very good and the clinic was always busy.

Hope this helps!
