Quick question: Is an online TEFL cert as recognized/acceptable as a one done live? Most monthly courses only provide a few (four and most eight) hours in the classroom anyway.
The two course I WAS looking at I'm not at all pleased with the response from the 'institutions' for a variety of reasons -I'll leave it at that.
Anyway, I have a friend teaching in China and has for some years (Taiwan as well). He says I don't even need the thing, just go. I'd like to do some study on the subject so I'll be more confident with classes/lessons. I have taught in four schools prior over 1.5 years but never had any training -no matter what was promised in Korea!
Spending 3-400, I am willing to do this for the students. The courses I was looking at were about us6-700. But the places seem really flaky. It's funny how arrogant these folks come off and then when you start engaging then with questions/email or they have a timeline to respond -they just screw you off (maybe playing you to swap times around for seats-schedules???).
Thanks and I'm looking for real positive or negative feedback on this one folks.
