I'm going to Japan next month to look for work in the eikaiwas. I've read some places require applicants to prepare a sample lesson plan and then teach part of it.
In preparing my lesson, to what level should I tailor it? Should I go for basic beginner level, intermediate, advanced? Should I maybe prepare a few different lessons, targeting a different level with each one?
Feel free to flood me with suggestions. I'm trying to get as prepared as possible. |

Every place is different, and what they ask of you may be arbitrary. The best way to prepare is to study various ways to adapt yourself to situations that may come up in the classroom, or construct a general outline that can easily be changed to fit any given lesson plan.
You could prepare a great lesson and begin the interview only to find that they ask you to give a sample lesson on a completely different topic than you had prepared for. |
