Hi,
I was just wondering when schools (i.e state schools) properly close for summer in China, and how long the break is. Also, I'm presuming that some private language schools operate all year long, or do all you FTs get a holiday in summer?
Thanks |

This past year, my wife and I had almost 2 months of paid vacation from our university. If I remember correctly, we were off around mid-june and started teaching again at the end of august.
Most teachers will get some kind of time off during the summer if they work for a public institution while those that work for private schools don't. Summer is a good time for the likes of EF to make extra money as the parents don't always know what to do with their kids and they want them to learn more english...so it's back to school for the little brats |

Our contracts at this PRIVATE school end on June 30th. Last year I came back on August 31st and started teaching on September 3rd. Granted, we don't get paid for these two months, but I worked a summer job and then went home for a visit. As I signed a second contract, the school let me stay in my apartment free of charge during the summer months. |
