Right now I teach at a "foundation school"....it helps Chinese students prepare for studies abroad. But I've mostly taught in language schools and have bits of experience in other environments too.

Hola!
There are many places outside of the big Chinese cities of Guangzhou/Shenzen-Shanghai-Beijing area that would be happy to have you come and teach.
In my wife's hometown of Dongyang there is a young black man teaching in a senior middle school here. The previous teacher was a woman from India. I would love to tell you that this is a wonderful school, but it isn't. To survive here, you need to be a good guy, but like the Samual Jackson character in "Pulp Fiction", have a wallet that says "Bad Mother F!!!!r" and learn Ezekiel 25:17 in Chinese. Then they will listen. I taught in that hellhole and I am blond haired and blue eyed. They were no better to me.
In Hangzhou, there is an African community. The people are from all over including the US. there is an African man here that runs a nice bar in Hangzhou named Kana from Burundi. He is very laid backed and kind. There was also an African American teacher who worked in the VICTORIA SCHOOL in Hangzhou. He is from Los Angeles with a loud mouthed Chinese girlfiend who worked where I worked. You might want to try to find them on the internet.
In closing, yes, there are jobs here for you. Chinese are very friendly and accepting. Yes, they do prefer European Americans, but there are so many jobs here that need to be filled and so few people here that want to fill them because of "what they hear" about China which is 75% percent bullcrap. In Hangzhou, where I live, is bigger than Dallas Texas, with I bet less than 500 foreign people (not teachers, just foreigners). YOU CAN GET A JOB .
Another good spot to seek is chinatefl.com. You can find work here. I have, and I am a mediocre teacher to begin with.
