Hello,
I just called to cancel my AMEX and they told me not to because I could transfer it into a Japanese AMEX when I arrive in Japan.
My question is:
Which credit card, if any, are accepted the most in Japan?
Amex, MC or VISA?
I was planning on keeping my VISA, but if I can get a Japanese AMEX, then I don't need it.

I used to have an AMEX here but they would charge me 10,000 yen every year as a renewal fee and I didnt use it all that much.
Most cards are accepted but JCB VISA and Mastercard are the most common. I have a Japanese VISA myself. |

Japanese Mastercard? Or can I use Canadian? |

You can use a foreign card in Japan but the bill will be sent to your home address in Canada as it is calculated in dollars.
A Japanese Masters card you can get the bill paid here when you open a bank account and set up an automatic payment. |
