I am tutoring two boys, 15 and 13 years (they are cousins). I usually tutor them separately because the 13 year old needs more help with writing and the 15 year old needs more help with conversation. I tutor them each 2 nights a week for an hour, a total of 4 hours. I typically do a short warm up and a 15 minute activity and use the rest of the session to help them with their homework, i.e. explanations, drills, etc... Their parents pay me a lot of money and I would like to improve these tutoring sessions, any ideas? What are some tutoring or one-on-one activities that you use with your students? What advice would you give to a tutor of one of your own students?
