Ermmm... you'll need to hit the Korean forum with this request.
www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/index.php
and you'll need to register there separately from here
http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/profile.php?mode=register

And a bit of advice... you are likely to get at least singed, if not outright blowtorched if you post vague questions like that. If I were you I'd be a lot more specific about:
what kind of action interests you
what your definition of "fun" is
what you definition of "helpful" is

and, before you post ANYTHING, read all the FAQs in the FAQ forum and run searches several times to get all the info you need.

I say this because it is all there anyway and anyway you want your first experience of socialising with teachers here in Korea to be fun... don't you
Wink

Hmmm. Let's see -

"Hi My girlfriend and I plan to come to Korea and Teach english in a few months. "

Capitalised "teach" and didn't capitalize "English".

"What Cities are the most fun ? "

Capitalized "cities"

"Is a Laptop helpfull to have ? "

Misspelled "helpful". Capitalised "laptop".

Question: Are you absolutely convinced you want to inflict your English on unsuspecting students?
And don't give me "typos".

And the references to "having fun" show you are not a serious professional.

Plumbing pays better.

Best regards.

Hehe if you're gonna be pedantic :p

'Capitalized', is spelt Capitalised, in England, you know, where English comes from Razz

We speak English in the US, too--where capitalized is spelled with a "z".

Spelling is the least of the OP's problems, INMO. Sounds like he and his lady friend have been living in The Days of Wine and Roses....

English may have been invented in England but was perfected in (North) America.

Anyway the OP does not have a degree. How do I know? He has done his homework enough to know that he is looking at a visa run every 3 months. With a work visa you are good for a year.

The visa runs will be the highlight of you time in Korea. A hakwon is long hours ---no time for much fun. And Pusan is boring bunk--if you enjoy Korea -unlikely-it will be in Seoul.

Dear dear dearbarbie:
Slightly more careful reading of my post will reveal that I was democratic in distribution of "Z"s and "S"s. While aware of the distinctions between British and American spellings, I attempted to be careful of sensitivities of Brits resentful of having become de facto serfs of US linguistic hegemony, feeble protests notwithstanding. A small study will show that the book output of the US outweighs that of Britain by several orders of magnitude. You might run a small survey to see which spelling exceeds the other.
Both are correct. Neither is wrong except in teaching, where British English in former colonies is acceptable. If not shoved down their throats.
By the way, it's pronounced "neether", not "nyether".
And it's "toe'may'toes"", not "toe'mah'toes".
We will never forgive you for Culloden. Crying or Very sad

Hi, kiwiteacher!

(You wrote to me): "Why yes I can Cut and Paste too. You must be an amazing person to have judged me so quickly......I could have judged you as a professional ! who cannot get lucky anywhere else in the world except Asia, but I don't need that kind of beguilement. Teachers sometimes forget that they should lucubrate also, see it helps to keep their North American ego censored....Oh you may notice that I have not 'Posted' this on the main page, thats just flirting with ones megalomania."

There ya go, kiwiteacher! No need to be shy!

Sincerely yours,

Megalomaniacal North Americam

(By the way, "ones" needs to be possessive, with an apostrophe. You are welcome.)
