| Anybody have ballpark figures on what a typical Japanese receptionist, branch manager, or Japanese ESL teacher would make at a big four language school? Thanks. |

entry level just graduated office girl: my guess is about 180-200,000 yen a month but they do a ton of unpaid overtime. Maybe a 11-12 hour day.
Japanese ESL teacher: 1/4 or more less than a native speaker. (75%)? |

It depends on the position, One of the bigger schools pays
1,000 (or more) for part-time
193,000 (or more) for a one year contract office worker
220,000 (or more) for a one year contract school director
204,000 (or more) for new university graduate, plus summer and winter bonuses roughly 3,500,000 a year
One year contracts have 111 days off per year plus 15 days annual leave, shakai hoken, travel expenses reimbursed, free English lessons, and the benefits of lots of company training. And of course, lots of unpaid overtime. |
