I know politics dont interest a lot of peopel but is anyone else really disgusted with the current government rampant corruption and selfishness? Any thoughts on the election coming up?

I Thaksin to be a very bad leader for the Thai people (and a lot of his actions have put a damper on things for expats and tourists alike), but it is his greed that is the worst trade. From using tax payers money to fund his Air Force One to questionable government loans being given to other nations (which in general are used to purchase goods from Shinawatra companies-essentially giving money to himself). And even worse is his family small contribution to the Tsunami disaster (he is a billionaire, and his 20 year old daughter is worth around 600 million US).

Of course one would never get this info from reading the BKK Post or the Nation. Any thoughts from those that read Thai newspapers.

Looks like he's here for another term. Rolling Eyes

Early exit polls are suggesting a landslide victory for the Thai Rak Thai (Thai Love Thai) Party, projecting them to win more than 350 of the 500 seats in parliament.
